FES Family Newsletter
Dear Wonderful Foothill Families,
Thank you for your continued support of our school community. We truly appreciate the time and partnership you show in so many ways, including attending last week’s School Site Council (SSC) meeting. During the meeting, we learned more about our CORE Phonics program and the important role literacy plays both at school and at home. We also discussed the encouraging rise in our reading scores, which we attribute in part to the strong implementation of the CORE Phonics six-step sequence, as well as the progress we are making toward the goals outlined in our School Plan.
Your voice and participation are valuable to us, and we would love to see even more families at our next SSC meeting on April 13 at 3:00 PM. Thank you for helping us strengthen the partnership between school and home.
We are also looking for any interested volunteers to support the Dance-a-Thon Fundraiser tomorrow. Please use this link to provide PFA your information: https://signup.com/go/wQKBXNq.
Our College and Career Fair will be held March 27th. We are looking for parents and community members to partner with us. Please see the flyer and QR code further down in this message if you are interested in helping and presenting at this event!
We would also like to provide a gentle reminder about morning supervision. Staff supervision outside does not begin until 8:00 AM. While breakfast is available in the cafeteria beginning at 7:45 AM, there is no supervision on the playground or outside areas before 8:00 AM. Students arriving between 7:45 and 8:00 AM should walk directly to the cafeteria for breakfast or be escorted by a parent if needed. We appreciate your help in keeping all students safe.
Spring Break is almost here! There will be no school from March 28 through Monday, April 6, and we look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday, April 7.
We have many exciting events coming up, so please be sure to check the calendar in our school newsletter to stay up to date.
Thank you again for your continued support and partnership. We are grateful to have such a wonderful community.
Warmly,
Jamie Swisegood, Principal
