Our Mission

The mission of the Sierra Unified school counseling program is to provide a comprehensive, data-driven system of support that inspires, encourages, and supports all students in reaching their "Sierra Best." We are committed to fostering a mountain of opportunities that cultivate students' academic, career, and social-emotional development. Through collaborative partnerships with families and the community, our program ensures that every student acquires the self-knowledge and 21st-century competencies necessary to thrive as resilient, contributing members of our unique society. 

Our Purpose

• College and Career Readiness: We believe that preparing students for life after graduation is essential to their long-term success. By providing academic choice and personalized learning plans, we help students navigate the transition from high school to higher education, reducing the potential for culture shock and ensuring they are ready for complex university coursework.
• Informed Ambition: Career readiness empowers our students to make mindful, informed decisions about their professional futures. By teaching students about diverse career pathways—from the arts to technical fields—we lay the groundwork for successful, self-sufficient livelihoods.
