2.13.26 SUSD Weekly Message from the Superintendent

Dear Sierra Unified Community,

I want to express my sincere gratitude for our students’ thoughtful and enthusiastic participation in Kindness Week. It was truly uplifting to see our campuses filled with intentional acts of kindness and meaningful conversations about how we treat one another.

I was especially appreciative of the opportunity to spend time with our fifth- and sixth-grade girls, talking about the importance of supporting one another and treating others as we would want to be treated. These moments remind me how powerful it is when we create space for our students to reflect, connect, and grow together.

As we look ahead to the spring season, I encourage all of us—students, staff, families, and community members—to keep this spirit alive as we continue our work with the Positivity Project. Building a culture rooted in kindness, empathy, and respect is an ongoing commitment, and it is one we proudly embrace together.

I am also looking forward to April, when we will recognize Autism Acceptance Month. This will be another meaningful opportunity to talk with our students about not only accepting differences, but truly embracing them. We are stronger because of our differences, and we are better together because of them.

Happy Ski Week to our families! A special thank you to our partners at China Peak for their continued support of our community by offering 50% off lift passes, group lessons, and equipment rentals on select days. We are grateful for such a valuable partnership that provides memorable experiences for our students and families.

Finally, I would like to share that our Measure U plans are currently moving through the Division of the State Architect (DSA). We will continue to keep the community informed as this process progresses.

Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support of our schools.

Warm regards,
Dr. Lori Grace
